Teamsters Local 294 hosted the New York State Conference of Teamsters on August 29th-31st. The conference had all New York State Joint Councils in attendance. Teamsters Local 294 & Joint Council 18 President, John Bulgaro, was joined by Thomas Gesualdi (Joint Council 16 President), and George E. Harrigan (Joint Council 46 President) to start off with opening remarks.
IBT President Sean O’Brien highlighted the direction of the Teamsters Union moving forward and the upcoming negotiations with large units such at DHL, UPS and many others!
IBT Secretary Treasurer Fred Zuckerman highlighted a strong drive for organizing.
Teamsters Local 294 Business Agent & Upstate/ West New York Grievance Committee Chair, Chuck Greenfield, called for a meeting of all New York locals to work together and stay united for the upcoming UPS contact negotiations for the 2023 contract!
Teamster leaders pressed in advancing unions in all aspects of labor. Kathy Hochul (New York Governor), Roberta Reardon (NYS Commissioner of Labor) and Tom DiNapoli (NYS Comptroller) responded to union concerns to expand the working class.
One message was very clear with every Teamster leader, Unity. As Teamsters we are capable of great things but only if we work together. NYS Teamsters are determined to set a higher level solidarity and representation.
