From the Desk of President Tom Quackenbush

First and foremost, on behalf of myself, the Executive Board, and our entire
Staff, we would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas,
and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

This past year, we had a record year of fundraising for our Teamsters Care
program. We had 53 scholarship recipients, and we were able to help countless
members in need. We were able to give to many charitable organizations in our
communities who help so many in need.

Again, I thank our Teamsters Care Board of Directors and all of our volunteers
    for their efforts.

I would be remiss if I did not mention our great sponsors that contribute to our
program. Without their sponsorship of our events, our Teamsters Care program would not be the success that it is. We ask, whenever possible, please consider them for your needs because they believe in Unions and they believe in us!

In closing, look for our Scholarship Application in the Spring and if
you know of a member in need, please reach out to me with a formal request at
    Tquackenbush@teamsterslocal294.org.

    02/03/26 - Teamsters Local 355
Feb. 3, 2026 | PERSPECTIVES | Every February, America dusts off the same joke. The groundhog pops out, sees his shadow, and we pretend to be surprised by six more weeks of winter. On Capitol Hill, Groundhog Day never ends.

Jan. 28, 2026 | U.S. JOBS | For America’s port and warehouse workers, the past year has brought a familiar but unwelcome reality: fewer hours, less opportunity, and growing uncertainty about what comes next. After years of pandemic-era upheaval, the freight sector has cooled, and employment tied to moving products has softened.
AI Policy, Implementation Must Be Worker First
    01/27/26 - Teamsters Local 355
Jan. 27, 2026 | PERSPECTIVE | Teamsters aren’t afraid of a fight. With the AI revolution upon us, now is the time for workers to make our voices heard against Big Tech and greedy corporations that want to replace us with robots. In the Teamsters Union, we do not oppose new technology that enhances work, makes work safer, or creates new jobs in the supply chain.
Why Labor Unions Can’t Ignore ICE
    01/26/26 - Teamsters Local 355
Jan. 26, 2026 | WORKER POWER | […] Rigorous evidence does not show deportations ‘freeing up’ good jobs for US-born workers. Instead, deportations tend to damage local labor markets and worsen outcomes for natives… ICE doesn’t just remove people; it changes behavior among those who remain.
